Sarah started her new job at a bookshop last month. She usually arrives at nine o’clock in the morning. She opens the shop, turns on the lights, and arranges the books on the tables.
Every day, she helps customers find the books they want. She always smiles and speaks politely. She recommends interesting novels and shows people where the different sections are.
This week, Sarah is learning something new. The manager is teaching her how to use the computer system. She is practising how to take orders and check stock. It is difficult, but she is trying her best.
Sarah’s colleague, Mark, usually works in the afternoon. At the moment, he is on holiday, so Sarah is working longer hours. She is doing both the morning and afternoon shifts.
Sarah loves her job. She thinks working with books is more interesting than working in an office. She believes she will learn a lot of new things here.
