Sofia is new in town. She cannot find the hospital. She sees a man reading a newspaper at the bus stop.
“Excuse me, could you tell me where the hospital is?” she asks politely.
The man looks up. “Of course. You can take bus number twelve. It stops right outside the hospital.”
“Thank you,” Sofia says. “Could you also tell me how often the bus comes?”
“It comes every fifteen minutes,” the man replies. “You can check the timetable on the sign over there.”
Sofia smiles. “I am sorry, but I cannot see very well. Could you read it for me?”
“Certainly,” the man says kindly. “The next bus will come in five minutes. You can wait here with me if you like.”
“That is very kind of you,” Sofia says. “Could I ask one more question? Can I pay with cash on the bus?”
“Yes, you can,” the man says. “But you could also buy a ticket on your phone. It is cheaper.”
The bus arrives. Sofia thanks the man and gets on. She can see the hospital from her window. In a few minutes, she will be there.
