Liam grew up in a small town in the north of England. Life there is quieter than in the city. The streets are cleaner, and the air is fresher. People in his town are friendlier than people in big cities.
But Liam moved to London two years ago. London is much bigger and busier than his hometown. It is also more expensive. Renting a flat in London costs three times more than renting a house in his town.
The best thing about London is the transport. There are more buses and trains than in his hometown. Liam can travel anywhere quickly. The worst thing is the noise. It is the noisiest place he has ever lived.
Liam’s sister still lives in their hometown. She says village life is the most relaxing way to live. She thinks the countryside is more beautiful than the city. But she admits that finding work there is more difficult.
Liam visits his hometown once a month. He enjoys the slower pace of life. But he also loves the excitement of the city. He thinks both places have their own special charm.
