Tom needs to buy a birthday gift for his mother. He has some money, but he does not have much time. He wants to get her something special.

First, he looks at some jewellery. There are a few rings and a couple of necklaces. They are beautiful, but they cost too much money. Tom does not have enough cash for jewellery.

Next, he goes to a bookshop. There are many books about cooking. His mother loves cooking. Tom finds a book with lots of colourful pictures. It has plenty of recipes from around the world. It is not too expensive.

Then he sees a scarf near the counter. It is soft and warm. He thinks his mother would like it. But he does not have enough money for both the book and the scarf.

In the end, Tom buys the book. He also buys a small box of chocolates. There are not many chocolates, but they look delicious. He wraps the gifts in colourful paper.

Tom feels happy. He believes his mother will love the book. She can make a little cake or some biscuits from the recipes.
