Different countries have very different weather. In Spain, summers are much hotter than in England. The sun shines almost every day, and the temperature often reaches thirty-five degrees.
In Norway, winters are colder and darker than in most European countries. December is the darkest month because the sun rises late and sets early. But summer in Norway is beautiful. The days are longer than anywhere else.
Japan has four distinct seasons. Spring is the most popular season because the cherry blossoms are beautiful. Autumn is cooler than summer, and the leaves turn red and gold.
Maria lives in Australia. She says summer there is the hottest season she has ever experienced. It is drier than winter, and there are more sunny days. She thinks next year she will visit Europe during winter to escape the heat.
Weather affects how people live. In cold countries, people wear thicker clothes and drink more hot drinks. In warm countries, people spend more time outside.
