Next month, our company will be launching a new product, and the entire office will be working at full capacity. The marketing team will be preparing promotional materials while the developers will be fixing the final bugs. Everyone knows that this period will be challenging, but we have planned carefully to meet our launch date.
My supervisor, who has managed many product launches, says that by next Friday, she will be reviewing the first drafts of our advertising copy. At the same time, the design department will be creating the packaging concepts. While all this is happening, the sales team will be contacting retailers to secure shelf space. It is crunch time, and every department has a critical role to play.
I will be coordinating communication between teams to ensure nothing falls through the cracks. This time next week, I will be sitting in back-to-back meetings, updating stakeholders on our progress. By the end of the month, we will hopefully be celebrating a successful launch rather than dealing with disaster.
Deadlines create pressure, but they also focus our energy. When everyone knows what they will be doing and when, productivity increases dramatically. My colleague jokes that he will be drinking twice his usual amount of coffee during this period, but he is excited to be part of something significant. Working against the clock can be exhausting, yet the sense of accomplishment makes it worthwhile.
