A2 Conjunction

Used for introducing a statement that makes the main statement in a sentence seem surprising.

Example

Although the sun was shining, it wasn't very warm.

and

A1 Conjunction

Also; in addition to.

Example

bread and butter

A2 Conjunction

While something else is happening.

Example

He sat watching her as she got ready.

A1 Conjunction

For the reason that.

Example

I did it because he told me to.

before

A2 Conjunction

Earlier than the time when.

Example

Do it before you forget.

B1 Conjunction

Used before you mention something that makes a statement not completely true.

Example

I didn't tell him anything except that I needed the money.

Used to say that one thing can, will or might happen or be true, depending on another thing happening or being true.

Example

If you see him, give him this note.

B1 Conjunction

Used to show that a negative statement is also true of somebody/something else.

Example

He didn't remember and neither did I.

Used to introduce another possibility.

From an event in the past until a later past event, or until now.

Despite the fact that.

Until.

Example

We're open till 6 o'clock.

A1 Conjunction

Up to the point in time or the event mentioned.

Example

Let's wait until the rain stops.

B1 Conjunction

At any time that; on any occasion that.

Example

You can ask for help whenever you need it.

A1 Conjunction

(in) the place or situation in which.

Example

This is where I live.

B2 Conjunction

Used to compare or contrast two facts.

Example

Some of the studies show positive results, whereas others do not.

During the time that something is happening; at the same time as something else is happening.
